about

Many years ago, at a performance of David W. Solomons' "Suite for recorder Orchestra", fellow composer Colin Bayliss suggested it would also work nicely with a Chamber Orchestra and created this arrangement.
The performance here is a new and very lifelike realisation of Colin's arrangement by American composer Jeremiah Bornfield.
Pretty How Town, a perky and rhythmically complex piece, is based on the rhythms of the poem - "anyone lived in a pretty how town" by e.e.cummings: "anyone lived in a pretty how town, with up so floating many bells down"
