Gaudete 01:37
Gaudete, gaudete! Christus est natus Ex Maria virgine, gaudete! [Rejoice, rejoice! Christ is born Of the Virgin Mary — rejoice!] Tempus adest gratiæ Hoc quod optabamus, Carmina lætitiæ Devote reddamus. [The time of grace has come— what we have wished for, songs of joy Let us render in faith.] Deus homo factus est Natura mirante, Mundus renovatus est A Christo regnante. [God has become man, As nature marvels The world has been renewed By Christ who reigns] Ezechielis porta Clausa pertransitur, Unde lux est orta Salus invenitur. [We pass through the closed gate of Ezekiel From the place Whence light has risen, Salvation is found.] Ergo nostra concio Psallat iam in lustro; Benedicat Domino: Salus Regi nostro. [Therefore let our gathering Now sing brightly Let it give praise to the Lord: Greeting to our King.]

O sing joyfully unto God our strength; make a cheerful noise unto the God of Jacob. Take the song, bring hither the tabret, the merry harp with the lute. Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, even in the time appointed, and upon our solemn feast-day. For this was made a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob. (Psalm 81:1-4)
5.
Rejoice in the Lord alway, and again I say, rejoice. Let your softness be known unto all men: the Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing: but in all prayer and supplication, let your petitions be manifest unto God with giving of thanks. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesu. Amen.
6.
Chantez à Dieu chanson nouvelle, Chantez, ô terre universelle, Chantez, et son Nom bénissez. [Sing a new song to God Sing, oh all the earth, Sing and bless his name] Et de jour en jour annoncez Sa délivrance solennelle. [and from day to day tell of his great salvation]

O quam gloriosum est regnum, in quo cum Christo gaudent omnes Sancti! Amicti stolis albis, sequuntur Agnum, quocumque ierit. O how glorious is the kingdom in which all the saints rejoice with Christ, clad in robes of white they follow the Lamb wherever he goes.

When David heard that Absalom was slain He went up into his chamber over the gate and wept, and thus he said: my son, my son, O Absalom my son, would God I had died for thee!

about

Review from the Sinden.org blog:
"We know that people don't come to Sinden.org for CD
recommendations, and we don't normally put out a "best of
the year" list in recorded music. But if we did compile a
list for 2009 David W. Solomons "When one is gathered together . . ." would be near the top of the list.
The title should alert you that something odd is going on here. As you may have already guessed, David W. Solomons is singing all the parts for all of the choral music recorded on the album.

The ascription "dwsChorale" simply refers to a phantom vocal ensemble comprised entirely of himself.
The resulting effect is eerie but captivating. The album is a real feat of engineering and a triumph of art.
It's worth a listen."

Some of these pieces are transposed down a little to fit the range of the dwsChorale.
